Mutant, in partnership with Milan Records, and Sony Pictures, are proud to present the premiere vinyl release of legendary composer Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Boy and the Heron) debut American film score, for Koganada's 2025 film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.

A criminally underseen and misunderstood future cult classic, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is a capital E Earnest, heart-on-its-sleeve swirling romance that demands re-evaluation. But until it finds its audience, we are here to celebrate one of its most significant contributions to cinema — the debut American film score by the legendary Joe Hisaishi.

For those cinephiles who have yet to journey into the world of Studio Ghibli's animated output, you have deprived yourself of the works of one of the world's greatest living film composers — Joe Hisaishi. Scratching an itch left by the brilliant Yann Tiersen's score Amelie, Hisaishi's score is nothing short of sublime. If that wasn't enough, this album also features five song performances by Grammy®-Award winning performer and songwriter Laufey, as well as a cover of The Who's song "Let My Love Open The Door" by Mitski.

Pressed on red and blue vinyl 2LP and featuring a screen printed D side.
