Little Building Co. have created these wonderful plywood kits to create your own architectural model of a Richmond Terrace.
By the 1890’s the Italianate style was prevalent and the decoration on the façade of the terraces grew more elaborate with lavish displays of cast iron, cast cement and ornamental doors and window forms. Chimneys extended from the roofs adorned with mouldings and fancy chimney pots.
This model is based on houses found in and around, East Melbourne. This particular house had a stucco front and a hipped slate roof. An ornate balustrade parapet was complemented with a cast iron verandah details and balcony.
Included in the kit is information about the history of the buildings, their location, methods of construction, architectural details and historical anecdotes. Instructions included with the model are easy to follow stage by stage diagrams. Models are 100% Australian made.
